getting better. Although I'd still really like a rainy day to stay home and do nothing. Alone.
Darling Daughter has taken to carrying around the dog's harness collar and sleeping with it. She also gathered dog hair and put it in a ziplock bag.
Is there an adult version I could do? His dog bed got peed on, so I can't snuggle that. I have some standards, people!
Thanks for all the hugs.

I had an individual cremation for my Maggie Girl. Her ashes sit in front of a framed photo of her on my library table, with her collar around the container. The same photo of her is the background photo for my computer's desktop. I see her every day.
Could you make or buy a blanket that specifically reminds you of Desmond? The same color as his fur, or as his collar, or just that reminds you of some special event?
It doesn't need to be something he actually used or even touched, what matters is a memento that makes you smile when you think of him.
..can you wash the dog bed?!?!?!
When my favorite cat died, I did keep her collar and lead (she walked on a lead like a dog!). But, I also framed a picture of her and stuck the sympathy card from the vets office behind it. I cried literally buckets of tears when she was gone and I still miss her (it's been 12 years), but she'll always be a part of my heart.
I'm sending good vibrations your way.
And also, I just tagged you.
i hope your heart heals soon!
What about a tree in the yard? Or yellow roses for a yellow dog?
or this one which is white to cream - the Astra Desmond rose

Hang in there, Nick, the Bad Ass cat of 18 years is in my office in a box (his ashes) and I say hi to him everyday....
Desmond sure had a great family and a great life, we can all tell
