Okay, so a quick tour of my blog feeds this weekend shows that either you or your friends are ALL blogging or tweeting about the Twilight Zone.
Seriously, if there were a way to do a trending report (hello? Google Analytics? Somebody?) Anyway, I'm sure somebody has done it, but I'm sure that it would show that Twilight got the most hits or keywords or whatever this weekend.
As someone who has not read the books or seen the movie, I'm feeling slightly out of touch.
A little like I've missed the boat, or like I'm June Cleaver and I don't understand those Beatles.
Am I the only one?
I read a lot of James Patterson, Jen Lancaster, Anita Shreve, Elizabeth Berg, Jodi Picoult, Dean Koontz, "Oprah" type books.....
Anybody have a recommendation? Think I might like it? I never warmed up to the Harry Potter books, although I liked the movies and am a voracious reader.

I haven't read Twilight either. Totally out of the loop. Have you read "Water for Elephants"? It was quite awesome.
Sorry, I'm no help - I haven't read any of the books or seen the movie (no desire to, either).
I do love the Harry Potter series, though (books and movies)!
Just wanted to let you know you aren't the ONLY one. Possibly one of two, but not the only one. :D
Oh and ps - I made the eggnog cheesecake bars for Hubby's Thanksgiving dessert bake-off at work today, and they came in second place! Woot! Last year, he made something chocolate and peanut butter related and didn't place in the top five. So, I rocked because you rock to put the recipe up here!
I read all of the authors you like and I really liked the Twilight series. I have to add, though, that if teens like it - I probably like it. For example, I did like the Harry Potter books. I also liked the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series. As far as tv shows go - I was and am a big 90210 fan. I also loved Charmed and I like Gossip Girl. Now that it's out in mass market paperback, I'd get it and try it - you're only out $7 bucks.
I haven't read them either, although Pen swears that I have to, just have to! Penelope is a smart girl so I think I'll humor her... just to make her hush? Is that wrong? ;)
So this one time, I watched Twighlight Zone on tv and it was a twist of the Stepford wives, where this normal family moved to the suburbs, that was stuck in the past (they were in the "future" - like thed 70's I think) and anyway long story short, the whole town slept in Tupperware and it was AWESOME and I though, HEY! I LOVE this show, only then, I watched like 5 more episodes and they all sucked.
So, basically? Read "Water for Elephants" because it was wonderful.
I haven't read any of the "Twilight" books nor do I have plans to see the movie. Maybe I'll get around to the books eventually. I love the Harry Potter books/movies!
I haven't read or seen Twilight, and have no desire to. I'm very "in the box" with books, and I don't like to venture out of my box, lol. I'm just not interested in vampire stories, love story or not.
I was at the library today and picked up a bunch of books. Some fluff, a few not fluffy. And the only one I can remember right now is The Senator's Wife.
I haven't read them and probably won't. I wasn't interested in any of the Harry Potter series either, so you're not alone.
I just finished reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was very good.
My boyfriend's daughter is a huge vampire fan and gets all (yeck) creamy when she talks about them. (I'm just as bad when it comes to Jamie Fraser in the Outlander Series.) This past weekend, she had four vampire books four different authors. Apparently literary blood sucking is big business. I read the first few pages of each book - the same technique I use in B&N to determine whether or not to make a purchase. Fricken lame, all of them.
Oh, did I mention I'm a snob? Big time. I'll read just about any subject matter as long as the writer uses language in a way that either soothes, impresses or pisses me off.
