I'm still laying low, but I'm spending a LOT of time reading and discovering new blogs.
There are a *lot of funny writers out there, mostly moms.
Great. I'll never be bored, but I'm also never going to catch up on my laundry folding or my TBR pile.
Here are some of the books I'm looking forward to reading:
Such a Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster
Range of Motion by Elizabeth Berg
Summer People by Brian Groh
Are you there Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler
When You are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris
Sail by James Patterson
What I'm reading now:
Bright Lights, Big Ass by Jen Lancaster
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
The Year of Pleasures by Elizabeth Berg
The Summer We Got Saved by Pat Cunningham
The Book of Hard Things by Sue Halpern
I'm really only actively reading the first two, the others have sort of stagnated
What's on your list?

Hmm.
I've opened Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods, but only got a few pages in.
My aunt has saved The Other Boleyn Girl for me.
And I'm reading The Story of the World, Volume 1 and realizing how much I was never taught.
But really, I'm mostly reading Reader's Digest and blogs. You're a terrible influence.
I enjoyed A Walk in the Woods.
You wound me...where's the love?
You are master of your own destiny. Wanna play Scrabble? ;-)
I just finished Engulfed in Flames and LOVE LOVE LOVED it. It was my first David Sedaris, and now I will go out and buy every single thing he's ever written and become like a crazed groupie stalker because that's the way I roll.
I also read Amy Bloom's AWAY prior to that and thought it was awesome. It's the story of a woman who walks from Seattle to Alaska in the depression. I have to also recommend The True Confessions of Mabel Stark--great book about the first female tiger trainer at Ringling Brothers and a great read. And pearl- I think you will be so pleasantly surprised by The Other Boleyn Girl- great book and I was a snob about reading it (how good can a book be that was made into a movie with Natalie Portman? ) but was so glad I did-very, very enjoyable. And GOOD GRAVY look at my running on at the keyboard--it's like a blogger bookclub.
What the french? I know I saved your blog and then kept looking all over for it...and of course, it's in the recipe folder, because THAT makes sense.
I have an urge to read "To Kill A Mockingbird" again (oh don't think me too literary, I'd love to read Chelsea Handler's book too)...although I'm having a hard time finding the time to read anything at all.
Glad you're feeling better!

Hmmm, anything else good in there?
We can make this a Blogging Book Club for Lorrie, a recipe swap for you, and a Mapquest exercise with Sue.
Oooh, I'm always up for book suggestions, thanks!
I read 1 and 2 of the Stephanie Plum books yesterday. Yes, both yesterday. I told you I had it bad, lol. To be fair, I also had to sit through swim lessons and soccer practice, so I needed something to do!
