I LoVe FrIDaYs

Yup.

First, I had a pedicure.
Yes, I know my toes look like they belong to Fred Flintstone.

But do you like the color?

It was a hard choice. All that Razz-berry, Boris and Natasha, Makes Men Blush, Bubble Bath, Spring Fling - okay, I made that last one up, but the names are always so amusing, I get a kick out of them.
I got to watch "The Price Is Right"

If you live in Fairport, and need a nail salon, go to Perinton Hills Mall - to Fashion Nail and Spa. They're super nice, have great massage chairs, and always offer me bottled water or soda. I feel like it's a non-alcoholic version of Cheers.

Also, you can see the Fairport schools K-12 art show.
I wonder if DD has anything up? I'll have to check it out later.

Then I went to Mykonos for lunch with Karen from WubsNet.
(She's not doing "jazz hands", she's waving "hi".

We ate a LOT.

and a "salad" for her. * Yeah. Guess who weighs more?
(sorry I didn't take the time to flip the pic - I have to pack for my church retreat. Sue me.)

Then we had chocolate mousse cheesecake and strawberry short cake.

Yum.
We even brought a little bit home. Really.

Next time? Andi? Heather? Lea? Y'all come on over!

LuNcH DaTe! or WooHoo, It's FriDaY!

I am taking a break from my ho-hum routine, playing hooky from errands, cleaning and work and going out to lunch with 2 Blogger Buddies.

One, I met in the fall for the first time and one I have only cyber-stalked.

Both of them live in the same metropolitan ( I take creative license with that term) area that I do.

Perhaps it's more accurate to say that we live in 3 suburbs of the same small Upstate NY city.

But no matter, the fact is that we are geographically close enough to meet for lunch.

Close enough to put gestures and faces and inflection to the banter that we are familiar with through blogs.

Close enough to expose gray roots and Mom jeans (NO! I kid!) and new hair cuts (sadly not mine).

Close enough to share a few laughs and maybe make new friends. Or at least close enough to eat together.

But far apart enough that we won't have to play hide and seek in Wegman's in case we don't want to do it again. ;-)

I think it's great to go out on a limb and meet someone new. I flew to Chicago in September to meet 4 women that I only knew from message boards. I even shared a room with one. Except for the fact that I probably snored, I think it went well. I had a great time and did something outside of my routine. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I'm meeting Heather and Andi.

Go check out their blogs. They're both humorous and observant and I'm really looking forward to lunch.

LUNCH!

Yes, lunch with an exclamation point!

Why? Because I met a fellow blogger IN REAL LIFE and I just love making new friends.
Yes, those are ginormous balloons. DD brought them home last night from the "Not-X-and-Not-Z" event last night and even with giving away 5 to Heather's Kiddo, my DD still has about a dozen left. Don't you just love Heather's smile?
And here we are after lunch (a lunch, I might add, filled with Eating Things That I Clearly Don't Need, but nonetheless Enjoy Immensely. Burgers and fries and shakes.)

Oooh, if you look closely, you can see my "ish" watch. :-)

We're both talkative, and Definitely Not Shy, because we didn't run out of things to talk about. In fact, I'm hoping we can do it again and share more. :-)
